Keke Palmer, Behind the Scenes: 'I Don't Belong to You'
Keke Palmer released her most recent video for “I Don’t Belong to You” last week and now she’s following it up with a behind-the-scenes video giving fans a more personal look into her career progression.
In it, she talks about feeling more prepared for what’s in her future after signing to Island Records just last month.
“I can look at so many things I’ve experienced just today that I’ve had similar experiences with that make me feel like, ‘It’s going to be good, girl’... or just relaxing and just have the confidence to know that it’s going to work out the way it should. I feel safe in that.”
The video also features her co-stars Cassie and Rotimi, who details his past working relationship with Keke and his enthusiasm for being able to appear on camera with her once again.
“The person I am right now is not even close to the person I thought that I was," Keke continued as the video closes out, "and that’s not in a bad way. I like to be surprised like that. I like to learn new things about myself. That’s also going to be expressed in my art.”
“I Don’t Belong to You” has already garnered more than a million views on YouTube. It was executive produced by Keke and directed by Mia Swier and Jim Swaffield. The song is her first release with Island Records.
