Sanaa Lathan Unleashes Her Inner R&B Diva With Debut Single
We know Sanaa Lathan as a Hollywood fixture who lights up the screen, but who knew that for all these years, there's been an R&B singer inside of her just dying to get out? The 43-year-old actress dropped her debut single "Emotional" this weekend, and it's not half bad.
Lathan brought in the big guns to help with her first track, including super producer Detail (you know his work on Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love" and "7/11") and femcee of the moment Dej Loaf. Singing about "I don't want to deal with no emotional n***as," Lathan makes it clear she's not trying to catch any feelings.
The whole project came together thanks to her rumored bae French Montana, who introduced her to Detail. When the producer watched the trailer for her new film The Perfect Guy, inspiration struck. “I was looking at the trailer and I said, ‘Wow. That’s an emotional n***a," Detail tells Yahoo. "Everybody started laughing and Sanaa said, ‘Exactly.’”
