The Weeknd’s time to shine is now.
On Friday, the Toronto singer is releasing his second studio album, Beauty Behind the Madness. The media blitz for The Weeknd is in full force, as he's the cover star for Billboard. The magazine teased the story with a list that shared The Weeknd’s five personal revelations about his persona.
Besides listing Michael Jackson as one of his biggest inspirations to become a songwriter, he also discussed why topping the Billboard Hot 100 wasn’t easy to do. Back in July, The Weeknd became the first artist to top all three slots on the Hot R&B charts with “The Hills,” “Earned It” and “Can’t Feel My Face.” He’s definitely come a long way from being an underground sensation with a mysterious identity to now being considered one of the biggest pop stars of our generation.
"The pop-star life is a new challenge," he admitted.
