Freddie Gibbs Shot at After Brooklyn Show
Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs was the alleged target of a shooting in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, last night. The New York Post reports that Gibbs, along with two members of his entourage, were shot at multiple times by two gunmen.
According to the report, as Gibbs was entering his car following his performance at Rough Trade, two armed men approached the vehicle and opened fire 10 times. Luckily, Gibbs was able to walk away unscathed, but his DJ and another crew member both suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Bellevue Hospital in New York City where they remain in stable condition.
Though no arrests have been made, Gibbs provided an official statement to the New York Post following the incident: "They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me. I'm still alive," he said.
Gibbs also confirmed to his fans via his Instagram page that he is alright, posting a photo with the caption, "Yep. Still Livin. Thanks NYC."
