Report: Nicki Minaj to be Featured on Beyoncé's 'Flawless'
The week's not over yet, but fans demand to know why Nicki Minaj pushed back "Anaconda," and the realest word buzzing is that it's because the Barb is on the remix to Beyoncé's song, "Flawless."
According to HipHopWired, a "music industry source" let loose the news (it's too much to hold), explaining that she moved her new single's release date from earlier this week to next Monday (Aug. 4) "to avoid it getting lost in the sure to be excitement."
Another insider confirmed it with MissInfo and added that "H-Town" Bey is actually rapping on the track, too.
The original "Flawless" is co-penned by The-Dream and features the "We should all be feminists..." speech by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Bey first released it as part of her "Bow Down/Been On" song fusion (she was spitting on that version) and dropped the full-length along with a video for her surprise self-titled album in December.
Nicki teased her own surprise after releasing the controversial cover art for "Anaconda" and juxtaposing the "unacceptable" image with similar "acceptable" pics that have been circulating in the media. "I promise you will understand why before the week is out," she posted about her song's delay.
The reason is major, certainly. Whether or not it's because of this remix remains to be seen, but at least it's a good idea... or nah?
Meanwhile, Nicki can be heard on another major collab, Jessie J's "Bang Bang" with Ariana Grande.
