DMX's Royalty Checks Garnished to Pay Child Support
DMX's wages will be garnished to pay $15,000 a month in child support to ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, TMZ reports.
Royalty checks that X would normally receive from Universal Music Group will instead be going to Tashera, court documents state. According to the payment plan, $10,000 covers child support for the former couple's four minor children, and $5,000 has been allotted to cover "other" expenses.
X has fathered 11 children with various women, and is at this point legendary for his monstrous child-support bills. In December 2013 he settled a $1 million child support case for an undisclosed amount.
The bill was so high because the Yonkers, N.Y., native used to be worth millions. "I was making $13 million a year, so if I'm making $13 million a year, then I can pay that," he explained during an appearance on The Dr. Phil Show. "I haven't made that in about 10 years, so of course I'm behind in payments, but the children are taken care of."
The 43-year-old former frontman of the Ruff Ryders filed for bankruptcy last year.
