Birdman Denies Drake Beef

Cash Money CEO says he loves and supports Drizzy.

"Don't believe everything you hear," Brian "Birdman" Williams said of Drake's rumored YMCMB beef during a Shade 45 interview with DJ Whoo Kid.

The Cash Money Records CEO stopped by Whoo Kidd's radio show and discussed the alleged rift between his label and one of its biggest acts. Regarding Drake as a "little brother," Birdman recounted nabbing the Canadian rap phenom, who was a "fan before a friend" of the label and ultimately made the decision to sign YMCMB. "Drake down with the team for life," Birdman said. "I got nothing but love for Drake and the whole OVO camp."

Even with Drizzy putting more energy into his OVO imprint this year and clocking deals with Nike and the Toronto Raptors, Cash Money remains in "support" of the new ventures. "It's about you developing and becoming bigger," Birdman continued. "If you have someone not allowing you to be bigger that's a problem; and we don't operate like that."

Meanwhile, Drake already pledged his loyalty to Birdman and YMCMB on track "The Language" from Nothing Was the Same. He also brought out Stunna, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne on three separate Would You Like a Tour? stops, and previously explained the relationship during a September CRWN interview with Elliott Wilson. “You always hear me represent as best I can. I think it’s been established that at the end of the day I came up under Lil Wayne’s wing and I wouldn’t have asked for it to go any other way," Drake said adding, "But at the same time, I’ve become my own artist and my own entity."
