Chris Brown's Father Doesn't Want Him With Rihanna

Chris Brown's dad says he should date Jordin Sparks.

Chris Brown's father is none too happy about the singer's rekindled relationship with Rihanna. As a matter of fact he thinks their union will end badly…again.

Clinton Brown opened up to the New York Daily News about the relationship drama namely the 2009 beating incident that left Rihanna bloodied and bruised, and Breezy in custody that influenced his views on the couple. "I personally really didn't want him and Rihanna back together," he said.

The 48-year-old, who split with Chris' mother more than 15 years ago, believes that Rih Rih is too much of a party girl to be a positive influence on his son. "You have to have a balance in a relationship. You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical."

Although he understands the attraction, calling Rihanna "beautiful," "exotic" and "successful," Clinton fears that if the 23-year-old stays with the Bajan beauty, they will go the way of other famously tumultuous couples. “I hate to use examples, but Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse — I mean I could go on and on!”

Rihanna didn't get his stamp of approval, but Clinton had nothing but good things to say about the "Fine China" crooner's ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.“I liked her a lot. They seemed to get on terrifically,” he said of Tran, who accompanied Chris on a visit to Clinton's house in Tappahannock, VA.

Asked who he thinks his son should date, Clinton had an interesting answer. "I personally liked Jordin Sparks. She’s a wholesome young lady, very pretty.”

Chris and Sparks collaborated on her 2008 single "No Air." The American Idol winner is currently dating singer Jason Derulo.
