Q-Tip Hints at Cruel Summer Sequel with Cruel Winter
G.O.O.D. Music's first collaboration album Cruel Summer is currently sitting at the top of the hip hop and R&B charts after a long-awaited release. The record hit airwaves just last week and it seems that the house Kanye built is already planning a follow-up.
On the red carpet of the BET Hip Hop Awards this weekend, Q-Tip "let the cat out of the bag," hinting that a second G.O.O.D. Music album, titled Cruel Winter, is in the works.
"If there's a Cruel Summer then there's got to be a Cruel Winter right?" Tip said with an arm around Pusha T. "That's all I'm saying."
Astute observers have noted that the A Tribe Called Quest rapper and a few other G.O.O.D. Music representers, including Mos Def and Mr. Hudson, were missing in action on Cruel Summer. If Tip is to be believed, perhaps we'll be hearing from them soon.
The compilation, which featured appearances by Kanye, Big Sean, Cyhi the Pryce, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Ghostface, Raekwon and more, debuted at number two on the Billboard charts with 205,000 copies sold in its first week.
