It's that time of year again! The official nominations for the BET Awards 2012 are in and it appears that the Roc Family has taken the lion's share of the nods overall. Kanye West leads the pack with seven nominations, Beyoncé follows with six and Jay-Z with five.
The announcements were made at a press conference hosted by Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials, BET Networks. In attendance to help with the announcement were A$AP Rocky, DJ Khaled, Melanie Fiona, Astro, Diggy and Mindless Behavior.
All five of Jigga's nominations come under his partnership with Kanye West for their The Throne project. Together as a duo, they are nominated for Best Group, Best Video for "N----s in Paris" as well as "Otis," Coca Cola's Viewers Choice Award and Best Collaboration for "Otis." In addition to these five noms, West is also named again under the Best Collaboration category along with Roscoe Dash for G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean's "Marvin & Chardonnay," as well as for Video Director of the Year.
Beyoncé, who gave birth to baby Blue Ivy this year, didn't do too bad herself, racking up noms for the work she did on her latest album 4. Bey is up for Best Female R&B Artist against Marsha Ambrosius, Mary J. Blige, Melanie Fiona and Rihanna, Best Video for "Countdown" as well as "Love on Top," Best Collaboration for her song "Party" with J.
