J. Cole's Hometown to Celebrate "Dreamville Weekend"
To celebrate the success of its native son, Fayetteville, North Carolina, will hold an inaugural "Dreamville Weekend" in honor of J. Cole. The three-day event will be filled with a number of youth-oriented festivities.
Beginning tomorrow, March 1, Cole will be in town to help the residents of Fayetteville to have a good time. He'll be paying a visit to his old high school, Terry Sanford High, hosting a special dinner with some celebrity friends and joining the mayor for the announcement of an official "J. Cole Day."
Cole's Roc Nation debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, debuted at the top of the Billboard charts last year and he was later nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy.
The festival, which the town hopes will inspire its young people, will culminate with a performance by Cole on Saturday, March 3 at the Fillmore Charlotte.
This town sure knows how to support its own.
Cole has also announced plans to hit the road for a college tour alongside Big K.R.I.T.
