Chosen as brand reps because of their influence and work ethic, five of the hottest Latin music DJ’s gathered for a panel discussion at the Latin Mixx conference in New York City’s Times Center.
Panel members Laura Stylez, Hot 97 FM (NYC), DJ Laz, Power 96 FM (MIA), DJ Geraldo, Mega 101 FM (Houston, TX), DJ Omarcillo, La Kalle 106.7 FM (CHI) and Heavy Hitter's DJ Eddie One Latino 96 (L.A.) discussed their careers and what it meant to be recognized for their accomplishments.
“Seeing corporate America recognize these DJ’s for all their accomplishments and everything they’ve done is a blessing. Being a DJ is a lot of hard work, you have to put your hustle and your grind in, I actually made up a new word for it, it’s called “grustle” – said DJ Laz.
Targeting the Latin music market event, sponsors comprised a group of eight of the hottest Latin music DJ’s from every major city to represent the brand.
Hosted by Manny Gonzalez, Director of Hispanic marketing, Moet Hennessy USA, told BET.com, “All the Hennessy Collective DJ’s are brand ambassadors in their own market”
Followed by a live mixing session conducted by DJ Laz and DJ Eddie One, the veteran mixers gave attendees a 101 crash course on what it means to be a real DJ.
DJ Tony Touch was also in attendance and helped pay tribute legendary Latin music turntablist DJ Little Louie Vega, and presented the iconic mixer with The DJ Icon Award
Respect the DJ.
