On the heels of campaigning through Georgia for President Obama, Keshia Knight Pulliam is back in the news for her philanthropic efforts.

The Spelman alum recently teamed up with her alma mater to host a Fall Fashion Presentation and Fundraiser at Saks Fifth Avenue, in Atlanta, Ga., where one million dollars in scholarship funds were raised for students facing financial hardship.

Keshia graduated from the all-women’s college in 2001, with a B.A. in Sociology and a concentration in film. It’s inspiring to see the House of Payne star using her celebrity for a good cause.

Ne-Yo’s fiancée, Moyetta Shaw, and LaTanya Richardson, wife of Samuel L. Jackson were in attendance to support Keshia and the ladies of Spelman at the swank department store luncheon complete with a champagne toast, live auction and special performance from the Spelman Glee Club.
