If you thought you had more than enough shoes, wait until you hear how many pairs of sneakers Raekwon has in his closet. The Wu-Tang Clan rapper recently told WWD that he owns more than 1,000 pairs and is "a super-sneakerhead," so much so that they influence his lyrics. The love he has for his kicks is apparent in his latest album, Fly International Luxurious Art, or F.I.L.A., due out in June.
"[F.I.L.A.] is all about glamour, lifestyle and fashion," Raekwon said. "All of those elements are going to be in the music."
Raekwon lists out the brands he's owned — Gucci, New Balance, Asics, Adidas Y-3, Nike, Fila, Jordan Brand, Timberland — and says he got the bug after watching Run-DMC in their signature Adidas.
We can only imagine how he manages to keep his massive collection in order, but Raekwon admits he doesn't even try.
"I can never keep them organized. With that many shoes, you just have to walk around and rediscover shoes you forgot you had."
