Here’s What Lupita Nyong’o Thinks of the #OscarsSoWhite Controversy
So far, several figures in entertainment have come forward expressing their unfiltered opinions on the now viral #OscarsSoWhite controversy, and the latest to chime in is Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o.
The 2014 winner took to Instagram to let her followers know that she's not here for the whitewashed nominations list, saying she is standing with her peers in agreement that the lineup lacks diversity. Take a look at her post below:
Lupita joins the now growing list of celebs who have slammed the revered show during the controversy. So far, Jada Pinkett-Smith, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Tyrese, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Spike Lee have come forward pushing for more diversity.
Lupita won an Academy Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in 2014 for her role in 12 Years a Slave.
