What a Miracle: Lamar Odom Is Off Dialysis and Out of the ICU

Even doctors are shocked at his remarkable recovery.

Lamar Odom is a fighter, and his recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. The two-time NBA champion appears to be winning the most important battle of his life — the fight for his life — after nearly dying of a drug overdose in a Nevada brothel.
According to reports, Odom has been transferred out of the ICU at Cedars Sinai Hospital, where he has been recovering since he was airlifted out of the Sunshine Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, and has regained some of his motor skills. "After therapy, he is able to take a few steps with help," says a source. "He is doing very well and continues to be a fighter. He hasn't given up once, and this will really help him in the future."
What's more, TMZ reports that Odom is off kidney dialysis — a major step considering the former athlete was said to need a transplant. Doctors are said to be completely surprised by the turnaround, giving a major boost to his long-term prognosis.
While Odom is far from out of the woods and will need months and months of physical therapy, he is clearly a fighter and has gotten a second chance at life. Meanwhile, his wife Khloé Kardashian is taking a break from her bedside vigil and even flew to Houston on Wednesday to hang out with her on/off boyfriend James Harden at his NBA season opener against the Denver Nuggets. While Kardashian is obviously committed to sticking by Lamar during his recovery, it looks like she's not jumping the gun on a full reconciliation just yet.
