Once Again, No Women of Color on Forbes' Highest-Paid Actresses List
Hollywood is a still tough place for women of color, Forbes reminds us.
The magazine published its annual list of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, and once again there are no women of color to be found in the top ten. The calculation, based on total earnings by actresses in the last year, didn't even include Halle Berry, Kerry Washington or Salma Hayek despite all those women having a multitude of high-profile projects and business deals.
Angelina Jolie topped the list with $33 million in earnings, despite the fact that she has not starred in a film in three years (since 2010's The Tourist). She's followed by Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Julia Roberts.
Male actors of color, however, fared better. Denzel Washington and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson both made the cut in the top ten. Famous women in other industries were also better-represented: Beyoncè and Oprah Winfrey both placed on the list of top female earners across all media.
