Casting News: Jamie Foxx’s TV Return, David Harewood in Biopic
Black actors continue to make power moves on the big and small screens. First up, Jamie Foxx will make his television return but this time behind the scenes. Deadline is reporting that the Academy award winner will be developing a buddy crime drama called Hit for TNT.
Co-written and executive produced by Foxx, it centers on two former best friends and high school football teammates who are later recruited by Miami Police Department. The duo are assigned to HIT (High Impact Team) and employ the same incredible moves they used on the field to capture criminals.
David Harewood is now in talks to portray Paul Robeson in an upcoming feature biopic on the activist and actor's life. Producers of the project, Robeson, are now scouting for a director and hope to start production on the movie next year. Veteran actor and Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. is also attached to star in the film.
The Homeland actor previously appeared in the feature films Blood Diamond and The Merchant of Venice.
