The Roots, Talib Kweli Launch Economic Campaign

Their mission is to "protect and expand America's middle class."

Rapper Talib Kweli and hip-hop band The Roots have teamed up with civic action group MoveOn.org to launch an economic campaign called "Rebuild the Dream." Other artists joining in on the venture include DJ Shepherd Fairey, Van Jones and filmmaker/actor Forest Whitaker.

Their mission is to "protect and expand America's middle class."
"While big banks and other major corporations are once again thriving, countless Americans continue to face high unemployment, low wages, home foreclosures and little hope about their economic future," a MoveOn.org rep told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "Meanwhile in Washington, the debate is not about jobs, but rather deficit reduction."
