Everyone Has Questions About This Mariah Carey Performance

What. Is. Happening?

Mariah Carey has had her fair share of flopped performances, but many fans on social media are convinced her latest stage appearance to hit the web is her biggest fail yet. A snippet from a past concert shows Mimi awkwardly stumbling through choreography and her own lyrics, begging the question: Why does this keep happening?

In the brief fan video, which was most likely filmed during her Vegas concert at The Colosseum, Mariah is seen not-really-dancing in between her peppy back-up performers. Things continue to get worse as two of her male dancers oddly lift her up to lounge on the backs of several others. And to top off the performance, it’s very hard to hear Mimi sing as she bizarrely rests her leg on one of her dancer’s thighs.

In the comments of the video, which was reposted on The Shade Room, fans shared mixed reactions. Some couldn’t help but laugh at the performance. “When ur mother wakes you up at 3am to do her favorite routine in front of her drunk friends knowing you got school in the morning,” one Instagram user said. Others pleaded with the haters to leave her alone. “I love her she was just over it, I mean can’t we give her a lil break,” another person wrote.

This wouldn’t be the first time Mariah’s been criticized for her live routines. Her performance during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve is probably one of her most memorable shows to date. During that show, Mariah’s mic didn’t work and she didn’t know most of the choreography. She attributed that fumble to ABC’s technical difficulties, but it’s unclear what exactly went wrong with her most recent show.

MC is undoubtedly a legendary artist and has the platinum records and singles to prove it, but her showmanship still needs some work. Check out Mariah’s performance in the video below.
