Did Jay Z Just Sign Lil Wayne to Roc Nation?
Some potentially crazy news may’ve started to grow roots over the weekend as Lil Wayne hinted that he’s signed with Roc Nation.
While performing “Cash Money Millionaires” at Tyler the Creator’s well-attended Camp Flog Gnaw concert, Tunechi changed up the lyrics to end a bar and rapped, “I’m a m****rf***ing Roc-A-Fella millionaire.”
While Jay Z's company has obviously changed its name since then, the reference is stunning. 2 Chainz, who also works closely with Lil Wayne, later posted a pic to Instagram that backed up what Weezy shouted out on stage. Wayne is seen walking toward the camera while throwing up the infamous Roc-A-Fella triangle.
Weezy and Hov have a well-documented business relationship and Jay did try to sign Wayne a while back. At the time, Lil Wayne declined the offer, which was only for $175,000, and re-signed with his “daddy” Birdman and Cash Money. More recently, Wayne announced that he signed with Jay Z, however that ended up only meaning he became a part owner of Hov’s streaming company TIDAL.
Lil Wayne can be all over the place and has thrown us off the rumor path in the past, but if this new inkling is true, it would be huge news.
