Tyga Wants to Make Something Clear About His G.O.O.D. Music Deal
While today (September 8) should have been a day for Tyga to celebrate the news that he is G.O.O.D. Music’s latest signee, instead he’s been hit with nonstop (and at times ruthless) criticism that given his relationship with Kylie Jenner, the business deal was a hand out.
While dating Jenner has its obvious perks, such as not having to be the most responsible when it comes to balancing your flexing habits and your own finances, Tyga is very defensive of the situation and wants both his supporters and his haters alike to know that his new record deal is not what it looks like.
A source close to the rapper told TMZ that Kanye West’s decision to sign him had nothing to do with his ties to his wife’s family. One source also pointed out that someone like ‘Ye doesn’t move forward with his co-sign unless it’s a project or an artist that he personally supports and sees their vision, and the business part is always factored in later.
Perhaps West’s decision to sign Tyga really does stem from an authentic place, but at the end of the day, no matter how you chop it up, being tied to the Kardashians in any capacity isn’t going to hurt you, at least as far as generating a buzz and building a fan base goes. The rapper is also slated to appear on the label's Cruel Winter compilation, due out sometime in 2017.
