Premiere: Beyoncé's Rap Protégé Ingrid Drops Her Debut EP, ‘Trill Feels’
Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment squad is heating up for the summer.
Repping Third Ward Houston, Texas, rapstress Ingrid is releasing her debut EP, Trill Feels. Laced with tracks that fall in line with the project’s name, the 29-year-old stakes her claim on her own lane, combining introspective tracks like “Double Pedigree” with the Sevyn Streeter-assisted anthem “Flex,” with the smooth stylings of James Fauntleroy on “Changed Things.” The seven-track project finds the newcomer sticking to her roots and introducing her sound. Kirko Bangz and Devin The Dude also make guest appearances.
Ingrid inked her deal with Parkwood after a lengthy relationship with Beyonce led her to songwriting endeavors with the world-renowned star. After lending her own Southern roots to Mrs. Carter’s self-titled album, Ingrid most recently aided in penning “Love Drought” on Lemonade. Since her signing in 2014 – a deal that includes a publishing agreement with Sony – the Houston rapper has released a number of singles to critical acclaim.
On Trill Feels, Ingrid assures that the project is filled with "first-person experiences," making her debut a personal one. Spin the anticipated EP below:
