#BlackGirlMagic: You Must See Newcomer Sennia Nanua In the Epic Trailer for 'The Girl With All the Gifts'
There's a new star on the rise.
Sennia Nanua, a London-based 12-year-old, is making a huge impression as the lead in the upcoming sci-fi film The Girl With All the Gifts. The young actress plays the lead role of Melanie in the film, based on M.R. Carey's best-selling young adult novel.
The trailer for the film, about a girl stuck in a military lab who harbors humanity's only hope for survival in a dystopian future, just dropped, and it's unlike any other zombie film you've ever seen:
Looks like Sennia is ready to follow in the footsteps of Quvenzhané Wallis, Amandla Stenberg and all the other bright young things who are bringing their #blackgirlmagic to Hollywood.
A release date hasn't been set as yet, but hopefully the film will come out in time to serve as counter-programming to the flood of generic superhero films headed our way.
