Ice Spice Reveals Her First Celebrity Crush
Ice Spice recently revealed she had it bad for a particular “My Way” singer back in the day.
During the debut episode on Thursday (Dec.7) of Unwell's podcast "Close Friends Only," the rapper had a fun chat with her current tour mate, Doja Cat, which dropped on Thursday.
Doja came with the spicy questions. "I feel like you can learn a lot about someone from this one: Who was your first ever celebrity crush?" the "Kiss Me Bad" artist asked the Bronx-bred rapper.
Ice initially hesitated, said, "It's so embarrassing," as she giggled, "I shouldn't say it, right? Should I say it?" Then, Doja reassured her that it's not embarrassing as long as the man crush isn't in her generation.
Doing the math in her head, Ice replied, “It can’t be because I was a kid.” Immediately after, she finally made the big reveal, “I’m just going to say it. It was Usher.”
Her first time meeting the “My Boo” star was at the 2023 MET Gala, with the theme of the evening being Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, so it was kinda giving fairytale. “I was like — for the first time I’ve ever seen him — I'm like, ‘My God, it's him.’”
Doja chimed in, “Gorgeous man.”
The "Munch" MC made her Met Gala debut this past year, making a bold statement in a white, floor-length Balmain gown. She accessorized it with a bedazzled camera clutch, Effy Archive diamond earrings, and an Effy Classique white gold diamond ring.
Meanwhile, Usher opted for a sleek black suit designed by Bianca Saunders. The suit featured a sharp silhouette tailored to perfection. He accessorized with a pair of leather gloves and black sunglasses.
Not to mention, Doja and Usher shared a sweet moment in October when he serenaded her with an exceptional performance of his 2010 hit "There Goes My Baby" during his My Way residency in Las Vegas. Usher altered the lyrics to reflect Doja's black latex minidress and stilettos.
Though Ice may have idolized the "Love in This Club" singer as a youngin, someone else may have her attention these days. In an October interview with The Los Angeles Times, she confirmed that she is in a relationship but declined to detail further because she wanted to "keep the focus on what I'm here for, which is music."
