Bernice King Seemingly Addresses Jonathan Majors ‘Coretta’ Remarks He Made About His Ex And Current Girlfriend Meagan Good

“My mother wasn’t a prop,” said the social justice advocate.

Bernice King –the youngest child of civil rights activists Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King– is sounding off on the significance of her mom's legacy.

As of late, Jonathan Majors has been using Coretta Scott as a barometer for what he desires in a woman. While the internet has been in a frenzy over his intrigue of the historical figure, her daughter is not holding back on the real contributions she made during her lifetime.

"My mother wasn’t a prop," Bernice began her tweet alongside a photo of her mom sitting in a chair. "She was a peace advocate before she met my father and was instrumental in him speaking out against the Vietnam War."

She added, "Please understand…my mama was a force."

During last year's trial between Majors and his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, which garnered a swarm of headlines, audio from an argument between them in September 2022 was released. In that exchange, according to Variety, the "Creed III" star tells Jabbari she needs to support him as Coretta Scott did with Martin.

In his first TV interview since the trial that aired earlier this week on ABC, the "Loki" actor opened up on his new relationship with girlfriend Meagan Good, and how he believes she shares qualities like Coretta.

“She’s an angel. She’s held me down like a Coretta,” Major said while grinning. “I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh, but I think I’ve found her.”

In December 2023, he was found guilty of assault and harassment against Jabbari. Per The Hollywood Reporter, he is planning to appeal. The action star is currently awaiting sentencing on February 6.
